VRET Practice: Patients with Depression

Add to calendar:

CME Webinar with Continuing Education Credits

We demonstrate through real case examples how virtual environments can be effectively used for activation, mood enhancement, and motivation promotion, such as through VR-supported behavioral activation or imaginative techniques. This involves the direct application in your practice: from selecting suitable scenarios to questions of integration into existing treatment plans..

The webinar is aimed at licensed therapists who want to not only get to know VR but also actively integrate it into their work with patients experiencing depressive symptoms. They will receive practical insights on how to combine established methods with innovative VR applications – evidence-based and implementation-oriented..

Literature Tip:

The study of Cho et al., 2024,shows that VR-based biofeedback interventions can significantly reduce depressive symptoms. After four weeks of intervention with VR-based biofeedback, a significant improvement was achieved on established depression scales, with the effect being observable in both subclinical and clinically manifest forms of depression.

The Stanford-Studie demonstrates that Virtual Reality Exposure Therapy (VRET) can lead to a significant reduction in depressive symptoms, particularly in patients who have difficulty engaging with traditional therapy methods. A randomized study from Stanford University showed improvements in mood and social activity over four weeks with VR-based interventions compared to conventional methods.
